Dr. Anastasia Shewell

Dr. Anastasia Shewell completed her undergraduate training in Psychology (BS) at Stetson University. She earned her Master’s degree (M.S.) and Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) in clinical psychology from Florida Institute of Technology, an American Psychological Association accredited program. She completed an American Psychological Association approved internship in clinical psychology at the Metropolitan State College of Denver’s Counseling Center, where she provided psychological services to the school’s diverse student population. She finished her training at the University of Georgia’s Counseling and Psychiatric Services Center as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. She is currently licensed as a psychologist in the state of Georgia.

Anastasia’s clinical experience includes services provided in a community mental health center, college counseling center, and hospital. When employed by FEMA, she was a crisis rehabilitation counselor following the 2004 Florida hurricane season. She has particular interest in working with individuals dealing with Anxiety Disorders, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)/OCD-spectrum disorders. She also provides relationship and sex therapy working with both couples and individuals. Anastasia is a professional member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation (IOCDF) as well as the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA). Dr. Shewell participates in nationally recognized trainings in the treatment of OCD and anxiety.

Anastasia skillfully employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and other evidence-based treatments to individually design the most effective treatment plan for her clients.
