Anastasia Shewell. Psy.D.

Dr. Anastasia Shewell is a licensed clinical psychologist. Since 2009, she has dedicated her career to empowering clients to face anxiety with confidence. She is known for combining warmth, authenticity, and practicality with highly effective, evidence-based treatment.

Dr. Shewell earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Stetson University before completing both her Master of Science and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Georgia Counseling and Psychiatric Services Center and is licensed to practice psychology in Georgia. She is also authorized through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) to provide telehealth services in 43 participating states and territories.

Dr. Shewell specializes in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, phobias, panic disorder, social anxiety, and generalized anxiety.  She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and other evidence-based approaches, tailoring treatment to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual.

She has completed the respected Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) through the International OCD Foundation, an intensive postgraduate training program in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for clinicians specializing in OCD and related disorders. She remains committed to staying at the forefront of the field by regularly participating in nationally recognized trainings and continuing education focused on anxiety and OCD treatment.

In addition to her work with anxiety disorders, Dr. Shewell has extensive experience supporting college students as they navigate the unique challenges of emerging adulthood. She also provides relationship and sex therapy for both individuals and couples, helping clients strengthen communication, foster intimacy, and build healthier relationships.

Dr. Shewell is a professional member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Anxiety & Depression Association of America (ADAA), reflecting her commitment to providing the highest standard of evidence-based care.

When she's not in the office, you'll most likely find her cheering on her favorite left-handed baseball player or spending time with Hazel, her "petite" 100-pound Great Dane, whose best trick is taking a nap.
