Kasey Smith completed her undergraduate training at New Mexico Military Institute and the University of Georgia, earning an associate’s and bachelor’s degree in psychology. She completed her master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) at the University of Georgia as well. After her graduate training, Kasey entered into private practice at the Georgia Center for OCD and Anxiety. Kasey currently holds full, independent licensure in the states of Georgia, Hawaii and Maine as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and is an authorized telehealth provider in the sate of Florida.
Throughout Kasey’s 15+ year career, she has focused exclusively on the treatment of OCD, OCD-related disorders and Anxiety Disorders. Kasey has received trainings from many of the nation’s leading organizations. Kasey has completed four Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTIs) with the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation (IOCDF) – General BTTI, Pediatric BTTI, BTTI: Advanced Training Forum, and Hoarding BTTI, as well as trainings through The TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (TLC) and the National Tourette Syndrome Association (TSA-USA). Kasey uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB) and other evidence-based treatments to successfully help children, adolescents, and adults overcome OCD, OCD-related disorders, Anxiety Disorders and co-occurring conditions. She stays current on advances in OCD treatment and regularly attends the International OCD Foundation conference where she is able to connect with other OCD clinicians around the world.
Kasey is a former president of OCD Georgia, the Georgia affiliate of the International OCD Foundation, where she also served as a board member. In her career, she has given numerous presentations to local schools, counselor groups, and community events discussing the presentation and impact of OCD & OCDRDs, Anxiety and the importance of evidence-based treatments. In addition, Kasey has taught multiple trainings on OCD and OCD treatment to clinicians throughout the state of Georgia.
Outside of work, Kasey enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, being outside and reading.
